As a collaborative team of a mental health counselor and a psychiatric nurse practitioner (APRN), Mental Health Awareness Month always reminds us why this work matters so much. Each day, we have the privilege of watching clients grow through their own unique journeys, trying out new skills between sessions, facing hard things, and discovering just how resilient they really are. Those moments of growth, big or small, are some of the most rewarding parts of what we do.
In our work, we draw from a mix of approaches such as CBT, DBT, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Rogerian (person-centered) therapy, alongside thoughtful, evidence-based medication management when appropriate. This combination allows us to meet people where they are, honor their lived experience, and build trusting, collaborative relationships that support real and lasting change. Within that safe space, clients can experience corrective emotional experiences that foster healing and help them restore or strengthen the relationships that matter most to them.
We also believe deeply in whole-person care. Mental health is closely connected to physical health, daily habits, and environment, so we work with clients to look at the full picture, nutrition, movement, sleep, mindfulness practices, and reframing unhelpful thoughts, alongside appropriate psychiatric care when indicated. When these elements work together, they create a stronger foundation for meaningful, sustainable recovery and overall well-being.
Because resilience is at the heart of what we do, we also love helping people express it outwardly. Our motivational wear line at Inquire Within Motivational Wear is designed to “wear your resilience,” using empowering messages as daily reminders of strength, growth, and hope. Whether you are in therapy, taking medication, supporting a loved one, or simply honoring your own journey, these pieces can be a tangible way to celebrate your progress and keep encouragement close.
During Mental Health Awareness Month and every month, our goal is to reduce stigma, encourage honest conversations, and remind people that seeking support is a sign of strength, not weakness. No one has to walk their mental health journey alone. To learn more about our counseling and psychiatric services, visit our website at Inquire Within Behavioral Health.
“Take the Time” is more than a design—it is a reminder to pause in a world that constantly tells you to rush. It was created to speak to the person who is always taking care of everyone else, yet struggles to give themselves even a few quiet minutes to breathe, reflect, or simply be. When you pull this piece on, it is meant to feel like a gentle but firm nudge: your life, your healing, and your growth are worth slowing down for.
For our family, “Take the Time” grew out of real conversations with patients, loved ones, and each other about burnout, anxiety, and the feeling that life is always “on fire.” It represents the decision to step out of autopilot—the choice to notice your thoughts, check in with your body, and reclaim pockets of stillness in your day. Whether that looks like a walk, journaling, therapy, or just sitting with your coffee without a screen, this design is a wearable cue to protect those moments instead of pushing them to the bottom of your to‑do list.
By wearing “Take the Time,” you are not just putting on a hoodie or tee; you are committing to honoring your own pace. You are telling yourself that it is okay to slow down, say no, disconnect, and prioritize what actually matters to you. Our hope is that every time you catch the words in the mirror, you remember that you deserve time—to heal, to grow, to rest, to become who you are meant to be. And when someone asks what your shirt means, you get to share that message and maybe give them permission to take their time, too. Explore our shop now at:
